Automating Handrail Manufacturing with VB Application in AlphaCam®

We developed a custom Visual Basic (VB) application within AlphaCam® to automate the process of creating complex handrail transitions from design to manufacturing. The application allows users to select the type of rail and configure basic design and manufacturing operations through a user-friendly Windows form. By inputting a basic 2D handrail center plan view line and the corresponding 2D elevation center line, the application generates a 3D multi-helix representation of the handrail section. It also automatically applies all the necessary CNC tool paths and can program the most complex transitions within seconds, streamlining the manufacturing process and ensuring precision in the final product.
