Fundamentals of Industrial Networks

This class teach students the fundamentals of the physical layer in industrial control systems, with a strong hands-on focus on terminating conductors and multiconductor cables in control panels and industrial connectors such as M12, RJ45, PROFIBUS, and PROFINET. Students also explore the role of industrial protocol gateways and gain a practical introduction to serial communication, PROFIBUS, and PROFINET fundamentals. The result is a solid foundation for installing, identifying, and troubleshooting industrial network components in the field.
